Vetara (“we”, “us”, the “app”) helps you track your pets’ health. We built Vetara to be private by design: your pet’s information belongs to you, and we don’t sell it, share it, or use it to track you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and (optionally) a display name, to sign you in and secure your data.
- Pet & health information you enter. The details you choose to record — pet profiles (name, species, breed, sex, birthdate, microchip ID) and any tracked records (vaccinations, weight, food, vet visits, medications, parasite treatments, grooming, expenses, symptoms, activity).
- Optional pet photos. If you add a photo, it is stored in your private storage folder.
We do not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs.
How we use your information
- To provide the app’s core features — storing and displaying your pets’ health records across your devices.
- To send you reminders you set up (for vaccines, treatments, and medications). Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
How your data is stored & protected
Your data is stored using Supabase (a hosted PostgreSQL platform) on our behalf. Access is protected by row-level security, which technically restricts every record so that only your authenticated account can read or write it. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with the infrastructure provider that operates our backend (Supabase) strictly to run the service. When you choose to generate and share a PDF health report, that file is shared only by you, with the people you send it to.
Data retention & deletion
- You can edit or delete individual pets and records at any time inside the app; deleting a pet removes its associated records.
- You may request deletion of your entire account and all associated data by emailing us (below). We will action verified requests promptly.
Children’s privacy
Vetara is intended for adults caring for their pets and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us using the details below and we’ll help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, provide notice within the app.
